WIA partner: BuckleyGrayYeoman

‘It provides a very positive forum for tackling gender-equality issues within the profession’

BuckleyGrayYeoman is a proud partner of the Women in Architecture campaign as it provides a very positive forum for tackling gender equality issues within the profession as well as a platform for discussion and awareness within the office. Our involvement in the campaign assures all our colleagues that we take gender equality seriously, and we believe it is fundamental to promoting greater diversity within architecture.

With a strong female presence at management level, we believe in equal opportunities for all by rewarding talent and achievement without a gender bias. Retaining female staff throughout their career is high on our agenda and we aim to offer some of the best benefits within the industry to retain and nurture talent, such as generous maternity pay and flexible working arrangements.

We are far from 250 employees but feel the Gender Pay Gap an important issue for smaller practices too – our analysis brought positive results and we report these on our website.

BuckleyGrayYeoman are focusing the next two years on promoting a broader diversity in our practice which is complemented by the Women in Architecture campaign. We actively participate in the Hackney 100 scheme which provides valuable workplace experience to young adults living in the London Borough of Hackney and we are a keen supporter of the RIBA Fluid Mentoring Programme.

Our inclusive and collaborative working environment encourages personal growth and development for all. We foster confidence and flair by sharing ideas and experiences and participating in open discussion throughout design and construction processes.

Throughout the growth of the practice, we have strived to retain our original essence: a positive, supportive working environment and great team atmosphere for everyone.
