Woodstock Trees by Sebastian Mariscal Studio, New York, USA

Celebrating invention and authenticity, the AR presents a snapshot of work in progress from around the world

Woodstock, a short two-hour drive from New York City, is as much defined by its rural tranquility as New York is defined by its urban intensity. So it’s hardly surprising to discover that this new house by Sebastian Mariscal Studio is an exuberant celebration of nature.

The dwelling is fragmented into a series of volumes, carefully placed around the thickly wooded site and connected by passages and internal gardens. Among the various external spaces are an outdoor bathroom, living room and even a fascinating ‘mud room’. The outcome is a setting in which to enjoy and engage with nature.
