The view from the BT Tower, Hel Yes and FoodMarketo

The AR’s pick from the world wide web

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to be one of 500 people permitted to go up the BT Tower as part of Open House London 2010.

One of my favourite structures in London, I was understandably super excited to see a panorama of the great metropolis unseen by tourists in 30 years (the tower closed to visitors in ‘81). Check out my snap above!

If you missed out, be sure to watch this amazing 60’s film – it makes me sad we don’t live in the future anymore.

Two quick references – if you are in London this Saturday be sure to check out the Finnish pop-up restaurant Hel Yes. I went to an event there last weekend – the food was great and the conversation super interesting. Amongst the many distinguished speakers was Finn Williams, who has been in the news of late for his collaborative work with David Knight. I just bought the book.

Finally, if you find yourself on the Brompton road, also stick your head into FoodMarketo event, run in collaboration with Apartamento Magazine.

  • Is it true that the revolving restaurant on top of BT Tower will open for the Olympics?
