Celebrating invention and authenticity, the AR presents a snapshot of work in progress from around the world
With a series of buildings that exploit the functional, spatial and aesthetic potentials of repetition, Sou Fujimoto has a clear affinity withmodular architecture. This project for an art museum and park applies these principles to create a new building type.
Be it a 3m-wide cubic module, or a 1km square domain, the museum comprises a series of buildings and sites, each containing one work of art. The architecture is typically laconic, since Fujimoto prioritises the landscape setting and the experience of moving from piece to piece. ‘Paintings will be seen in a completely new way,’ he concludes.
