Moon Hoon's fantastical landscapes

A psychadelic megastructure houses parallel worlds

Moon_Hoon_Ring_Ring_2011

In this fantastical landscape, doodled in the diary of South Korean architect Moon Hoon, an unlikely assembly of pilgrims including cowboys and androids flock to the site of a psychedelic megastructure housing parallel worlds in giant tunnels under a red sun reminiscent of the Japanese naval flag. Moon, whose outfit of choice is a Formula One body suit, featured prominently in the Golden Lion-winning South Korea Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. His surreal drawings were juxtaposed with rare and equally unrealistic work of North Korean students.
