Celebrating invention and authenticity, the AR presents a snapshot of work in progress from around the world
As architect for the Bond University School of Architecture, Peter Cook likens his role to that of a policeman planning a bank robbery. Applying decades of pedagogical experience to the design of this building, a series of witty cartoons were used to win the job that described ‘the intensities and relative activity patterns of the external as well as the internal spaces’.
Equal emphasis is given to the design of studios, circulation spaces and external areas, all of which relate to a spine of concrete ‘scoops’ that articulate a central street. This provides informal space for crits, displays and gatherings.
