Benedetta Rogers, Lucy Paton, Julian Bond and Sigrid Bylander's 'Sill to Sill' in Hackney

Old materials are reused with a touch of humour in this farm shop

Winning a competition held by Hackney City Farm to create a space that would sell their produce and provide information, the farm requested that the project use recycled materials and the concept of waste as a resource. Rogers, Paton, Bond and Bylander drew inspiration from nearby Victorian terraces, with recycled wooden panels mimicking brick facades and repurposing discarded sash windows. Built for £3,000, the project is an example of how abandoned materials can be recycled and reused playfully and effectively.
