The Big Rethink Part 1: Towards a Complete Architecture

Comment

Thank you. Thank you. At last, a recognition of much that is wrong with our buildings and the damage that many do to historic cities, world-wide. I would like to suggest that it is time to revisit Pevsner's (1941) seminal question "why is Lincoln Cathedral a work of Architecture and a bicycle shed a mere building. The difference, I suggest, is that the former evokes an aesthetic emotion. New findings on the brain promise that emotions are evolutionary survival mechanisms. The field is rich for an explanatory model.
