Above photograph was linked from Glen Small article "SCI-ARC ILLUSIONIST" in which he runs a brief and personal history of Sci Arc from its beginnings to today's context. This is the original article in his blog called Small at Large. (warning: he writes in all caps)

I think, however personal, these are very relevant words by Glen Small to this article here at Architectural Review.

A picture from the student and faculty protests at Cal Poly Pomona in 1972 which led to Ray Kappe, Glen Small, Ahdi Lahti, Bill Simonian and Thom Mayne with 50 students starting Sci Arc as a renegade school.
