‘The architect as a super-star is disappearing’: an interview with Chilean practice, Grupo TOMA
Grupo TOMA - five friends who have worked together for the past two and a half years - see themselves as part of a generational shift, one replacing the individual starchitect with collectivity and social movement. Drawing from the history of Chile, they seek to bring a political discourse to their projects, often rehabilitating old industrial spaces to house new forms of knowledge. Here, they discuss their influnces and projects, and how they situate their practice in a new generation of Chilean architects.
