Tomoyuki tanaka shibuyasta
Tokyo’s major train stations are known to be some of the busiest in the world. In this meticulous depiction of Shibuya Station, Tomoyuki Tanaka unpeels layers, superimposing the hidden staircases, platforms and hallways of the underground onto the city’s streets. Drawn with a ballpoint pen, the series is populated with large crowds of people and includes details such as platform numbers and billboards. Tokyo is portrayed as a living organism, its infrastructure a bustling hive fully integrated into city life.
