Whole chunks of existing city are cut out and erased in Sol LeWitt’s series of paper works ‘$100 drawings’, created between 1967 and 1979. ‘A Square of Chicago Without a Trapezoid’ from 1979 depicts the obliteration of a geometric shape superimposed onto the city fabric of Chicago.
