The work of Modernist architect and designer Charlotte Perriand has been historically eclipsed by the towering shadow of her long-time collaborator Le Corbusier.  ‘We don’t embroider cushions in my atelier,’ was Corb’s infamous response when she first applied for a job at his office. This 1928 photomontage by Perriand – most well-known as the designer of the tubular steel chaise longue – shows chair designs ergonomically adapted to mannequins in different positions.
