JSt Product Complex

Mixed Use Winner: jst product complex by Osamu Morishita, japan

Winner

Project: JST Product Complex
Location: Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan
Architect: Osamu Morishita
Client: J.S.T. Global Headquarters

This 60m, 13-storey high sustainable building incorporates a factory, warehouse, research and development centre, offices, dormitories, dining halls and various social amenities. The unusual support structure is composed of folded plate steel which serves as both external support and floorplates whose inner ends are supported on a reinforced-concrete core surrounding a long circulation void.

The judges said: ‘This bravura combination of multiple uses is expressed in a confident piece of architecture for a manufacturer owner-occupier.’

Share an evening with international architects and clients

If you are going to be at MIPIM this year make sure you join us at the annual MIPIM AR Future Projects Awards evening. The dinner is firmly established as the central architecture event of the week in Cannes and is MIPIM’s largest sit-down dinner.

The Future Projects Awards dinner, chaired by Paul Finch, editorial director of the Architectural Review, celebrates new architectural thinking and offers first class hospitality and a perfect opportunity to impress and entertain clients during MIPIM.
