Nearly 5000 students have registered to take part in the International VELUX Award 2016
The award challenges students from around the world to work with daylight in architecture.
It will showcase creative explorations on the theme of daylight in buildings and daylight investigations from future architects.
The award looks to inspire students of architecture to consider how to use sunlight and daylight as main sources of energy and light, and how to ensure the health and well-being of people who live and work in buildings.
Registered students must submit their final project by 15 June 2016 and all entries will be exhibited on www.iva.velux.com
This year, the overall winners of the International VELUX Award for Students of Architecture will be announced at the World Architecture Festival in Berlin on 18 November 2016 and all winners will be featured in the November issue of the Architectural Review magazine.
‘It is energizing to see the global response to the International VELUX Award,’ says Per Arnold Andersen from the VELUX Group. ‘Daylight in architecture is equally relevant around the world and we hope to inspire creative daylighting practices and global architectural thinking with the award.’
