Poly Dip (hons) 1965; M.Arch UC Berkeley 1969; MSc Imperial College 2006. Worked in California with Ezra Ehrenkrantz and later in London during the 1970s representing Building Systems Development and teaching at the AA, before returning to US in 1980 to restore the Woolworth Building in New York and do planning/university work in San Francisco up to 1987. Managed Salomon Brothers European corporate real estate for ten years before becoming European MD for contractor ISG, working in Frankfurt,Paris, Milan, Madrid. Later Asst Director of Estates at Imperial College, before peeling off to become a student again.
Have written reviews and articles for AR and AJ as well as BD and Design Book Review. Now working on a revisionist history of 20C construction in which the forces of production have completely over-run the design professions.
